Online Baccarat in the Philippines

By PhilippinesBetting Editorial Team4 min read

Baccarat looks like a card game for high rollers, but you make one decision per hand: back the Player, back the Banker, or back a Tie. The cards are dealt by a fixed rule, so there is nothing to get wrong once your chips are down.

Online, the choice is less about rules and more about the table: a live dealer or a computer game, a normal pace or Speed, cards turned over plainly or squeezed slowly on camera. Below are the rules, the table types, the side bets that change the math, and the honest answer on which bet costs you least. Players must be 21 or older.

Baccarat Rules, Step by Step

Baccarat

  1. Bets go down first: Player, Banker or Tie (plus any side bets). Then betting closes.
  2. Two cards are dealt to the Player hand and two to the Banker hand. "Player" and "Banker" are just the names of the two hands; you can back either one.
  3. Cards count at face value from 2 to 9, an ace counts 1, and tens and picture cards count 0. Only the last digit of a total counts, so 7 + 8 = 15 is a 5.
  4. A total of 8 or 9 on the first two cards is a "natural" and the round ends there.
  5. Otherwise a fixed third-card rule decides whether each hand draws one more card. The dealer or the software applies it; you never choose.
  6. The hand closest to 9 wins. Player pays 1 to 1, Banker pays 1 to 1 minus a 5% commission, and Tie usually pays 8 to 1.

More Casinos With Live Baccarat

A live baccarat screen is busy. These are the labels worth knowing before your first hand:

Baccarat Words on the Screen

Commission The 5% the house takes from a winning Banker bet in standard baccarat
Squeeze The dealer bends and slowly reveals a card on camera for extra suspense
Shoe The box of shuffled decks the cards come from
Roads Scoreboards of past results: Bead Road and Big Road, plus Big Eye, Small and Cockroach Road patterns drawn from the Big Road
Super 6 In No Commission Baccarat, a side bet that pays 15 to 1 if the Banker wins with 6
Natural An 8 or 9 on the first two cards; nobody draws

Live or RNG Baccarat?

The same rules, two different experiences:

Live baccarat RNG baccarat
Cards Real cards from a real shoe, on camera Drawn by a random number generator
Pace Standard live rounds last about 48 seconds; Speed Baccarat about 27 As fast as you tap
Extras Squeeze, roads, chat, side bets Usually a demo mode to learn in
On mobile data Heavy (video stream) Light

Which Bet Costs You Least

Every baccarat bet has a built-in house edge. The two main bets are close: Banker wins slightly more often than Player, which is exactly why the house charges its 5% commission on Banker wins. Over time, Banker is still the cheaper of the two.

The Tie is the expensive one. It pays 8 to 1, but it comes up rarely enough that the house keeps far more of every Tie peso than of a Banker or Player bet.

Best Roulette Strategies

Variants that change the math

  • No Commission Baccarat: no 5% on Banker wins, but a Banker win with 6 pays only half your stake (0.5 to 1).
  • Peek Baccarat: you can look at cards and double or triple your bet mid-round, for a 20% fee on Player or Banker bets.
  • Bac Bo: dice instead of cards, two per hand, highest total wins; the Tie can pay up to 88 to 1.
  • Dragon Tiger: one card each, highest card wins; a Tie pays 11 to 1.

About patterns and systems

Martingale, flat betting and "follow the road" are ways to size your stakes. They don’t make the next hand more predictable: the shoe has no memory. A fixed stake and a stop-loss for the session do more for your wallet than any pattern.

The Short Version

Back Banker or Player, skip the Tie unless you accept the price, and pick the pace that suits your budget: a Speed table burns through a bankroll almost twice as fast as a normal one. If you grew up on Lucky 9, you already know the idea — closest to nine wins.

FAQ. Frequently Asked Questions

  • 💡Is Banker or Player the better bet?

Banker, by a small margin, even after the 5% commission. The Tie is the bet with the biggest house edge.
  • 💡What is the difference between Speed Baccarat and normal baccarat?

Only the pace. In Evolution’s version, cards are dealt face up and a round takes about 27 seconds instead of 48.
  • 💡What does "squeeze" mean?

The dealer bends a card and reveals it slowly on camera. It adds suspense; it doesn’t change the odds.
  • 💡How many decks are used?

It varies by table. The game’s Help screen states the number of decks for that table.
  • 💡Is Lucky 9 the same as baccarat?

They are cousins: in both, the hand closest to nine wins and tens count as zero. Lucky 9 has its own betting and drawing rules, so read the game’s Help screen before you play.
