Boxing Betting Markets

A market is the thing you bet on. These are the ones you will see on most fight pages.

Match Winner

You pick the winner. Boxing can end in a draw, and how a site handles that varies: some list the draw as its own outcome, others refund a two-way bet if the fight is drawn. Read it before you bet, because draws happen in title fights. Pacquiao's WBC fight with Mario Barrios in July 2025 was one.

Method of Victory

A fight can end by knockout or technical knockout, by decision (unanimous, split or majority), or by disqualification. Books let you bet on the method, or on the winner and the method together, at higher odds.

Number of Rounds

You bet over or under a number, like 8.5 rounds in a 12-round fight. Round betting is the harder version: you pick the exact round a fighter wins in. Live Betting on Boxing

In live betting the odds change between rounds as the fight goes on. A knockdown or a bad cut can swing a price in seconds. Some books only take live bets in the minute between rounds.

Filipino Fighters to Follow

As of 28 September 2026, from the IBF champions page and the WBC ratings (updated 3 September 2026):

  • Pedro Taduran is the IBF mini flyweight (105 lb) world champion. The IBF lists 28 July 2024 as the date he won the title.
  • Melvin Jerusalem lost his WBC strawweight title to Siyakholwa Kuse on 16 May 2026 in South Africa, on scores of 116–111, 116–112 and 115–112. Jerusalem had beaten Kuse in Manila the October before. He is now 25–4 with 12 knockouts, the WBC rates him number one at strawweight, and the WBC expects him to use his rematch clause for a third fight with Kuse.
  • Jhon-Riel Casimero is rated 10th at featherweight by the WBC, and Marlon Tapales is 12th.
  • Manny Pacquiao's last pro fight was the majority draw with Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title in July 2025. Ryan Garcia has held that WBC belt since February 2026.
  • Also in the WBC top ten: Joey Canoy (2nd) and Joseph Sumabong (4th) at strawweight, and Regie Suganob (3rd) and Arvin Magramo (4th) at light flyweight.

The sanctioning bodies

The WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO each crown a world champion in every weight class. A fighter who holds more than one belt is a unified champion. Olympic boxing is amateur boxing, with its own rules and no pro world titles.

Fight Times in the Philippines

Filipino fighters box all over the world (Jerusalem's last fight was in South Africa), so it helps to know the time gap. The Philippines is on UTC+8.

  • Las Vegas: a Saturday main event at 8 p.m. local time starts at 11 a.m. Sunday in Manila while the US is on daylight saving time, and at noon after 1 November 2026.
  • Japan: one hour ahead of us. A 7 p.m. main event in Tokyo is 6 p.m. here, the same day.
  • South Africa: six hours behind. A 9 p.m. main event there is 3 a.m. the next day here.

Main events rarely start on the dot. They follow the undercard, so a "fight night" bet on the main event can still be open an hour after the listed start.
